Swift therapy for verrucae

Swift Therapy for Verrucae

Verrucae (plantar warts) are a common and often frustrating problem. They can be painful, unsightly and incredibly stubborn - sometimes hanging around for months or even years. Traditional treatments like salicylic acid, freezing, or laser therapy can help, but they often require many sessions and don’t always provide lasting results.

If you’ve tried everything and your verruca still won’t budge, Swift Therapy might be the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.

What Is Swift Therapy?

Swift is a modern, non-invasive treatment that uses microwave technology to help your body clear verrucae naturally. Instead of trying to burn, freeze, or cut away the wart, Swift works by triggering your immune system to recognise and fight the virus that causes verrucae (HPV).

Because it tackles the root cause and not just the surface, results tend to be longer lasting compared to traditional methods.

How Does Swift Therapy Work?

Swift delivers a very short burst of microwave energy through a small probe placed on the verruca. Here’s what happens:

  1. The practitioner places the Swift probe on the verruca and delivers a quick pulse of energy (about 2 seconds).
  2. This heats the affected tissue, helping to expose viral markers.
  3. Your immune system recognises the virus and begins to clear the verruca in the following weeks/months.

How Effective Is Swift Therapy?

Swift is one of the most effective verruca treatments available today. Research and clinical experience suggest:

        • Over 75% of stubborn verrucae clear within three sessions
        • Higher success rates than traditional options like cryotherapy or salicylic acid
        • Lower recurrence, as your immune system learns to fight the HPV virus
        • Because it boosts your natural immune response, many people experience long-lasting results

What To Expect During Your Appointment.

A Swift session is very quick and straightforward:

  • Treatments take only a few minutes. - The actual microwave pulses last around 10 seconds per verruca.
  • No anaesthetic needed. - You may feel a brief, sharp, warm sensation, but it’s over almost instantly.
  • No damage to surrounding skin. - Unlike freezing or acids, Swift does not typically cause blistering or scarring.
  • No downtime afterwards. - You can walk normally and return to daily activities right away.

At Footcare Scotland our treatment plan consists of 3 separate Swift treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart.  A review appointment will then be arranged 16 weeks after the 3rd Swift treatment to ensure the verruca has fully resolved.

How Much Does Swift Therapy Cost?

At Footcare Scotland we provide a treatment package which cost £395

This package includes 3 Swift treatments as well as your review appointment 16 weeks following your 3rd Swift treatment.
